Dr Martens launches The Clash collab
Rebellious attitudes are part of their joint DNA. So a collaboration between footwear brand Dr Martens and British 70s punk band The Clash seems only fitting.
Under the heading “46 years in the making”, the “footwear artisan” is paying homage to one of the “greatest bands in British history” with a tribute ‘Made in England’ footwear collection “enriched with honorary detailing”.
Available in two styles (the 1460 8-eye boot and the 1461 3-eye shoe), they come in both glossy Arcadia Sandinista! and self-titled record artwork.
Additionally, all pairs see The Clash branding stamped on the heel, accompanied by a set of dog tags and an assortment of seven lace options.
To celebrate the collection, director, DJ and musician Don Letts has collated a playlist of songs to tell the story of the band from his perspective as their long-time collaborator. ‘The Story of The Clash in 100 Tracks’ is a mix of cuts from the band’s albums and solo careers, as well as music that inspired them and artists inspired by them.
The Dr Martens x The Clash footwear collection launches on 6 October via the Dr Martens website while the playlist will drop on Spotify and through Dr Martens’ channels at the same time..
