Although we are now in October, there’s no need to pack away your miniskirts just yet—as Simone Ashley has shown us. The Bridgerton arrived at Valentino’s spring-summer 2024 show in a black mini, which she paired with a matching crop top, leather bomber jacket, and white thigh-high boots.
The stiletto boots not only provide the perfect contrast to Ashley’s otherwise all-black look, but they also offer just the right amount of coverage needed to take her ultramini into the colder months. It’s not the first time Ashley has been seen in thigh-highs: At Burberry’s spring-summer 2023 show last September, the actor wore a skintight pair with a gothic T-shirt dress and printed gloves, allowing her to show the tiniest sliver of skin.
It seems the Bridgerton actor was an early adopter of the transitional boot; Thigh-highs enjoyed somewhat of a resurgence on the autumn-winter 2023 catwalks, making an appearance at the likes of Bottega Veneta, Hermès, and Khaite. Meanwhile, A-listers including Rihanna, Dua Lipa, and Emily Ratajkowski have also long been fans, with the latter often seen pairing hers with ultrashort hemlines.
You don’t need a miniskirt to invest in this season’s favorite boot silhouette, though. Wearing them with a longer hemline (as seen on Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, also at the Valentino show), you can adopt a more covered-up approach—proving just how versatile the thigh-high is this autumn.
