Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis won’t hit theaters for a few more weeks, but may I present Kristen Stewart as a stylistic placeholder in the meantime?
The actor arrived at the New York premiere of her new film, Crimes of the Future, on Thursday, June 2, wearing a jumpsuit covered in thousands of itty-bitty black sequins. The plunging neckline, the sparkle—it’s giving “Elvis gyrating onstage” and I’m not mad!
Stewart’s longtime stylist, Tara Swennen, confirmed that the ensemble is by Chanel, including the long silver pendant necklace. Though the jumpsuit was styled on the runway with a matching trucker cap, the actor finished the off-duty rock star look with patent Le Silla stiletto boots and a messy ponytail instead.

Stewart’s new horror flick, written and directed by David Cronenberg, is apparently gruesome—like really gruesome. Insider reported that several people left a screening of the film at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
The film trails a performance artist played by Viggo Mortensen who undergoes surgeries in front of a live audience. Responding to critics of the gore at a Cannes press conference, Stewart said, “Everyone loves to talk about how [Cronenberg’s] movies are difficult to watch and it’s fun to talk about people walking out of Cannes screenings.”
“Every single gaping, weird bruise in his movies, it makes my mouth open,” she continued, per Insider. “You wanna lean in toward it. And it never repulses me ever. The way I feel, it is through really visceral desire and that’s the only reason we’re alive. We’re pleasure sacks.”
Did Kristen Stewart just call me a pleasure sack? I mean, no argument here!
