The supervisory board of Gabor Shoes AG appointed Stefan Blöchinger as the new CEO of the Rosenheim-based shoe manufacturer on July 18. Blöchinger is taking over Achim Gabor’s responsibilities, including the marketing and sales departments for all business units.
Stefan Blöchinger has been Gabor’s chief financial officer since August 1, 2022. The new tasks will be in addition to his current responsibilities.
The 54-year-old has 30 years of professional experience and has held CFO roles in the fields of production and sales as well as at group level. In the past, he has increasingly dealt with the topics of transformation, standardisation of business processes and digitalisation. He also wants to develop new perspectives for Gabor, the company says.
Blöchinger is to shape the strategic direction at Gabor and drive the development or implementation of a growth strategy.
“In the future, we will not forget where Gabor comes from and what Gabor is all about. All customers, suppliers, partners and employees can continue to rely on us,” says Stefan Blöchinger.
Blöchinger succeeds Achim Gabor, who announced in May that he was retiring from the company for health reasons. Gabor officially left Gabor Shoes AG on July 18.
