Alert the presses: Jacquemus’s latest collection is here, which means you will see it on practically everyone within the next few weeks.
To celebrate the end of Fashion Month, designer Simon Porte Jacquemus showcased his label’s spring 2022 ready-to-wear collection, Le Splash, to the praise of an intimate crowd in Hawaii. While the show originally got rained out (the collection name seems to be fitting!), the ensuing style inspiration made up for it: neon suits, terry-cloth sandals, and nude co-ord sets.
Like most Jacquemus collections, Le Splash built upon a cemented legacy of tailored basics and colorful cotton garments that have become synonymous with the house since the label’s first show, in 2014. Jacquemus has a certain accessibility to it, unlike other brands who pride themselves on over-the-top ball gowns and lavish runways. With micro crop tops and elevated yet fun accessories, the label has cemented itself as the It brand with a base of Gen Z and young millennial customers. Really, Jacquemus feels like it’s for everyone.

The French brand, a cult favorite among celebrities and high-fashion Twitter alike, is known for its cool, breezy, laid-back aesthetic that’s made its way to become a uniform for influencers while lounging around in the South of France: linen pants, micro bags, clunky, strappy sandals, and casually draped dresses.
For friends of the house who attended the show, including Blackpink’s Jennie and singer-songwriter SZA, the brand’s parade of tropical style is sure to be everywhere thanks to their support.

Personally, I manifesting not only warmer weather in New York City but owning every single one of the show’s mini bags, which probably won’t fit anything except my phone, my MetroCard, and a single stick of gum. Thank you, Jacquemus and Le Splash! I will be using water-droplet emoji on every single one of my summer ’fit pics from now on.
