Mindy Kaling Joins the See-Through-Dress Trend With a New ‘Thirst Trap Pic’

Sheer or see-through dresses are quickly becoming the big trend for spring, and Mindy Kaling is here for it. Just in the past week, Kristen Stewart, Jennifer Lopez, Lori Harvey, and Anya Taylor-Joy have all worn the look. Now Kaling is putting her own spin on it and recently posted one of her sexiest looks yet.

“I promise this is my last thirst trap pic from this weekend! Now we can go back to videos of me cooking meatloaf or whatever,” the actor-writer-producer wrote on Instagram on Tuesday, March 29, alongside a picture of her posing in her closet wearing a Little Black Dress with a corset bustier and mesh panels, an exposed bra, and a mesh skirt over a black miniskirt. Basically, fishnets come to life, and she looks so cool!

Flame emojis soon filled the comments, plus a “wave” emoji from Shang-Chi star Simu Liu.

Kaling tagged a number of brands and designers, including FWRD, Dion Lee, Vhernier jewelry, Jimmy Choo, and Andrea Wazen. She also gave credit to the team behind the look: hairstylist Marc Mena, MUA Eva Kim, stylist Hayley Atkin, and fashion assistant Jenna Remy. Suffice to say, this is not some thrown-together Sheinsemble.

Mindy Kaling will take any and every opportunity to have a Fashion Moment. In October 2021 she snapped a picture of herself in a pink robe and wrote, “Feeling cute in my annual mammogram robe! Last year a lot of women missed their yearly mammogram, hopefully you can make an appointment to get checked. It’s so important. Tag me in your mammogram pic and you KNOW I’m gonna comment.”

As for the aforementioned meatloaf videos, Kaling hasn’t been that casual in a minute! You’re much more likely to find her shouting out her A-list friends; her most recent nonfashion post is this sweet message for Reese Witherspoon: “Forget the startling difference in the relative size of our heads.
